Frequently asked questions
Is the loan calculator free?
Yes. The loan calculator is 100% free with no limits, no watermark and no paid tier.
Do I need an account or sign-up?
No. There is no account, sign-up or email required. Open the page and start using it.
Can I export or download my results?
Yes. Use Save results in the Free forever box to download your inputs and results as PDF, Excel (.xlsx) or CSV, or tap Send to phone to share them as a plain-text note (share sheet, copy, .txt file or QR code). Files are created in your browser and include the date generated.
How is the monthly payment calculated?
We use the standard amortization formula: payment = P × r ÷ (1 − (1 + r)^−n), where P is the amount borrowed, r is the monthly rate (APR ÷ 12) and n is the number of monthly payments.
How much do extra payments save?
Extra principal payments shorten the loan and cut total interest. The calculator shows the new payoff date and how much interest you save compared with no extra payments.
Are the preset rates real offers?
No. Presets are example values to get started. Your actual rate depends on the lender, your credit and the loan program, so enter the rate you were quoted. Estimates only, not financial advice.
Are my files or text uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you enter or open is sent to our servers or stored by us.
